|GRANADA, 1881. Signed, dated, and titled in the plate. Exhibited at the Phila. Society of Etchers in 1883, as #69 "Spanish Water Carrier." Spain was ranked as an exotic location in the period. Ferris (named for the acclaimed French "Orientalist" painter) was one of the nephews of Thomas Moran: the Moran family was the artistic dynasty of late 19th-century Philadelphia.
